Empower Your Health

with Confidence

As you start to become more independent, being able to understand health information will help to inform your choices and behaviors which will affect your future health.

A good self-advocate is able to let people know what they think, feel and need. By doing this, you should be able to make informed decisions based on what is best for you as an individual and have more control over your own life.

You might not realize it, but as a student you have access to many different healthcare resources. Our mission is to equip you with the skills to effectively and confidently navigate them.

Call to action

Data shows that 80% of students in the greater Boston area are out-of-state, and 25% of this population come from outside of the U.S. The truth is, students come to college from all parts of the world, away from their familiar social networks of support. They’re expected to know when to seek medical care, how to manage their insurance (and let’s be honest, who really knows how the U.S. insurance system works?), what services are available, what questions to ask a doctor, and the list goes on. Put simply, college students are dropped into a completely new world and just expected to know how to do it all. But how many of them actually do?
